Appointment of external members to NIHRACS Governance Advisory Council
Two of the members are Norfolk Island residents with strong community ties and experience in clinical service delivery, while the third member is a strong leader in health service administration with health care delivery experience in remote locations. It ensures the inclusion of diverse views and experience in deliberations.

Kingston Site Master Plan and Heritage Management Plan Update
Due to the current COVID-19 travel restrictions, the planned site visit for the Kingston and Arthur’s Vale Historic Area (Kingston) Site Master Plan and review and update of the Heritage Management Plan have been postponed until early 2022.

Argentine Ant Eradication Program to commence baiting
Norfolk Island Regional Council (NIRC) Argentine Ant Eradication Program staff and contractors work under the guidance of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) to conduct targeted baiting in Argentine ant infested areas.

August Revenues Economic Development excluding airport and fire services fees reported a total revenue of $297,950. Museum accounted for 3%; Tourism 3.8% and Liquor Bond 93.2% of total revenues.

Council Reports on Public Health Matters
Water/Wastewater Monitoring Testing of water entering into creeks/streams/dams/bores and wastewater from the wastewater treatment plant was conducted in August for multiple parameters. The sites tested/monitored were Cockpit, Bumboras, Headstone, Kingston Creek, Rosy Hessy Spring, Duck Dam and Officers Bath.

Travel to the island by returning residents and essential workers has been permitted from these areas and they have been required to undergo 14 days self-isolation on arrival. EMT has decided that from 14 October 2021, fully vaccinated returning residents and essential workers from the above areas will be tested on arrival and will only need to isolate until they receive a negative test result. Unvaccinated returning residents and essential workers will be required to undergo the 14 days self-isolation upon arrival.
