This week Tropical Cyclone Fili passed Norfolk Island, and it swerves away to the East of the island as it headed south to the North Island of New Zealand.
The cyclone formed near New Caledonia and sat North of Norfolk Island for a few days before moving out to sea past Norfolk Island. The weather was unsettled for a few days, with wind and passing showers.
On Monday, 11th April 2022, I took a few photographs at Cascade Bay of the swells rolling into the Cascade Pier. There were a few smaller rocks thrown up from the waves, but nothing like the February cyclone.
Due to the ex – cyclone Fili, QANTAS delayed QF179/180 - MONDAY 11 APRIL 2022, the Sydney flight was rescheduled to Tuesday 12th April 2022.
It was a relief that the storm stayed out to sea and didn’t effect Norfolk Island apart from the ocean swells, wind and rain and delayed flight.
Here are a few photographs I took at Cascade Pier and weather maps from the internet links.
