This months Probus club meeting

08 August 2024

The Norfolk Island Probus club meets on the first Tuesday of each month, and the last meeting was held on Tuesday 6th August at the SDA Hall and always at 10 a.m.

We were privileged to have Caroline McCallen and Alison Rogers from Bio-Security give us a presentation on the policies and regulations governing the imports of goods into Norfolk Island. She gave us an overview of the risks that come with the import of certain meats and grains, and the differences between the imports from New Zealand and Australia.

We found it all interesting and the Q&A session was just as interesting as our members asked questions that related specifically to them. Caroline told us of some funny instances that she has come across such as a passenger who said “I don’t have pork or dairy products, just some bacon!”.

It was a really well done. Thanks Caroline and Alison
