N.A.T.S. - Norfolk Amateur Theatrical Society

The local members of the Norfolk Island Theatrical Society are proudly presenting the 2024 production of “Vicar of Dibley”, a stage play by Ian Gower and Paul Carpenter adapted from the original TV series by Richard Curtis and Paul Mayhew-Archer. With kind permission of Tiger Aspect Productions and Comic Relief.

This hilarious play is set in the sleepy village of Dibley, where the elderly local vicar has just died and the parish council members, led by their pompous, opinionated chairman David Horton, are waiting to greet his replacement. They are definitely not expecting anyone like Geraldine Granger – ‘a babe with a bob cut and a magnificent bosom’! Nevertheless, kind-hearted, fun-loving Geraldine (aided by pea-brained verger Alice Tinker) sets out to win over the oddball inhabitants of Dibley while staying true to herself.

Since moving to Norfolk Island, I have always attended the theatre productions and also the “Annual theatre Festival”. The 2024 Theatre Festival will be held from 22 to 28 September 2024, this is the 26th Annual Festival and actors, directors and supporters travel from Australia, New Zealand, and also local Norfolk Island acters and the theatre production crew, entertain the adjudicators and audience and the winners take home the Trans-Tasman Trophy. Put these dates on your calendar, three nights of entertainment, with different plays every night.
