Team Approach to Island’s Waste Management

Norfolk Island Regional Council and Recycle Your World have commenced the transition of management of The Norfolk Wave Recycling Centre to NIRC.

NIRC thanks Revolve Your World for their contributions that have resulted in effective waste management practices, and positive change in community perceptions and behaviour when dealing with their household rubbish.

Since the opening of The Norfolk Wave, and the circular economy initiatives that have been implemented during that time, Norfolk Island has earned a reputation of innovation in its reuse and recycling program. We look forward to continuing to offer an efficient and cost-effective waste service with a combined team approach.

The management transition aligns with Council's current service review work, which aims to find efficiencies across the organisation, while ensuring quality service to our community into the future.

Over coming months, we may introduce gradual changes to waste management operations as our teams begin working more closely together, which will align with initiatives being developed by our team.
