Taleyah Jones Smashes Norfolk Island Record at Oceania Cup

Norfolk Island’s own Taleyah Jones made history today at the Oceania Cup in Tonga, placing third in the Women’s Hammer Throw with a remarkable throw of 44.54 metres - a personal best and a new Norfolk Island national record.

In an inspiring performance, the 19-year-old athlete surpassed the previous record of 44.20 metres, held since 2013 by Brianna Stephens. Her record-breaking throw marks a significant milestone not only in her young career but also in Norfolk Island’s athletics history.
