Statement on NIGC community representatives’ progress update

During the current caretaker period, which continues until a new government is formed follow in the federal election on 3 May 2025, decisions are not being taken by the Norfolk Island

Governance Committee (NIGC). The Australian Government representatives sit as observers only on the Committee in this time.

The Progress Update document which was recently publicly released represents the community representatives’ opinions. The update should not be considered as the view of the full Committee.

There will be more news following the election outcome on next steps.
