Silver Dawn Luxury Cruise Ship Passengers Disembarked at Cascade Pier, Saturday 21 February 2026

The second cruise ship for 2026 was the Silver Dawn, which arrived early in the morning on Saturday 21 February, with an estimate of 450 passengers onboard the luxury cruise ship. The Silver Dawn anchored at Cascade Bay and three of the ship’s transfer vessels were used to ferry the passengers to the Cascade Pier to the awaiting Baunti Tour staff and their buses. The passengers were then transferred on shuttle buses to Burntpine and from town, tour operators had organised tours plus additional buses with drop-off and pick-up shuttles to Kingston, named the “Kingston Flyer”. At Kingston the visitors were able to visit the Norfolk Island Museum and explore the (KAVHA) World Heritage Area with many layers of history. It was a warm sunny day, and I expect some may have enjoyed a swim in the Kingston Lagoon.

This was the final island stop before departing Norfolk Island and heading to New Zealand as they enjoy their adventure on their South Pacific Cruises. I have read that the Silver Dawn has the capacity for 576 – 691 guests with 288 cabins on 8 of the 11 decks. The passengers are enjoying their 17 night cruise which departed Papeete, Tahiti Island, French Polynesia on 7 February and the voyage ends on 24 February in Auckland, New Zealand.

The passengers explore Papeete, Tahiti Island, French Polynesia, Aitutaki Island, Cook Islands, Nukualofa, Tongatapu Island, Tonga, Sayusava, Vanua Levu Island Fiji, Mystery Island, Aneityum, Vanuatu, Noumea, Grande Terre Island, New Caledonia, Norfolk Island, then onto Bay of Islands, Russel, New Zealand and finally Auckland, New Zealand.

The last cruise ship I recorded in 2025 was the Luxury Cruise ship Scenic Eclipse which visited Norfolk Island on 28 November 2025 with up to 228 passengers and 176 crew. The attractive vessel was very new and built in 2023. The Scenic Eclipse also visited Norfolk Island on 16 April 2024 and gave passengers a flight on one of the two ship’s helicopters.

February 2026 has been an exciting month with two cruise ships visiting, the Crystal Serenity visited on 15 February, with approximately 500 passengers, and a week later the Silver Dawn on 21 February 2026 with an estimate of 450 passengers.

I do not have an official confirmed list of cruise ships visiting Norfolk Island during 2026. The next scheduled cruise ship on one of my lists shows Scenic Eclipse on 7 March 2026 and Hanseatic Inspiration on 15 March 2026. And then later in the year P&O Cruise Carnival Encounter on 4 August 2025.

We wish Silver Dawn crew and passengers safe travels as they sail on their cruise adventure and hope the sea is calm. I am sure the visitors enjoyed their day visiting our friendly shores exploring Norfolk Island during their visit last weekend on Saturday 21 February 2026.
