Reminder: Upcoming Morepork Owl Surveys

Parks will be running a Morepork monitoring program from October 12th to November 30th, and we need your assistance!

What We Need:

We are seeking a team of committed volunteers to help conduct five acoustic call-back surveys across five weeks.

When:

Your commitment to the survey will involve:

4 training sessions: These sessions will help volunteers become proficient in estimating the direction and distance of calls and using call-back software (2hrs after sunset).
5 survey nights: Each survey evening will take between 1-2 hours, starting just after sunset (around 7:30 pm).

*Thursday 30^th November is possible if weather interferes with any above dates.

Due to the specialised nature of this survey technique, we kindly ask that volunteers are available for at least 2 of the 4 training sessions.
