Are you newly retired and looking for fun and fellowship? Or moving into semi-retirement and wanting to connect with others in the community?
Your local Probus Club offers the chance to make new friends, listen to interesting guest speakers, learn a new skill, explore new interests and hobbies - there is so much to choose from when you join Probus.
The local club meets next Tuesday 7 June from 9.15 AM in the SDA Hall on New Cascade Road. This month we invite you to come and hear our special guest speaker Tammy Jones from Red Cross Australia.
Tammy Jones is a Resilience Project Officer for Red Cross Emergency Services NSW. She has been a very active volunteer for the last 16 years in her community and is passionate about helping people at their most vulnerable by providing support and empowering them with skills to help them move forward. She is trained in a range of modalities across the fields of mental health, domestic violence, suicide prevention, trauma-informed practice with families, and working effectively with culturally diverse clients. Tammy will share with us her recent experiences assisting communities to lead their own recovery through setting up Community-led Resilience Teams, particularly in the Tweed/Byron Region which was recently devastated with the floods.
Bring along a plate of treats to share morning tea, bits and pieces you want to re-home on our Trading Table, and mingle with Norfolk Island’s friendliest bunch of retirees.
