Police Report

- About 1.00pm Tuesday, 27 May 2025, a large package that had been in the water for a significant amount of time was located on the beach at Anson Bay, Norfolk Island by a tourist.
- Upon inspection by police the package is believed to contain individual ‘bricks’ of cocaine totalling approximately 40 kilograms.
- Investigations into the source of the drugs are continuing including liaising with international partners.
- NIPF are asking the community to report any suspicious packages and ask that they do not handle them as they could contain dangerous items/substances.
