Not a great deal from us but here is what we spoke about on the radio as well as Court outcomes for the week:
- The NIPF have charged a male in relation to the burglary which occurred at the school a few months ago. The male has been charged with Burglary and Property Damage and will appear before the Court in January 2024. The tools from the burglary have not been located and Police welcome any information about their whereabouts. This is a positive outcome for the investigation but Police are disappointed that offences like this are occurring in such a small community, these negative behaviours affect the whole island and in this case it was the children at the school who were impacted the most;
- Police have seized a motorcycle from a male person who failed to stop when directed by Police last week. This male also has a traffic infringement notice issued. The motorcycle has been impounded for seven days. Road safety and anti-social driving behaviours are important and Police are reminding people that any reports of dangerous driving, speeding or similar will be investigated and Police will seize and issue traffic infringement notices where appropriate;
- There have been a lot of reports lately of people speeding in the areas of Slaughter and Emily Bay. Please slow down and remember that the speed limit in those areas is 30kph;
- On a positive note, the NIPF were happy to roll their sleeves up on Tuesday and cook a BBQ lunch for the children and staff of the Holiday Program. We are always happy to lend a hand where we can to assist any community groups.
