Continuing traffic blitz
- Traffic targeting is ongoing and Police are happy to say that more people are wearing seatbelts, staying within the posted speed limit and also not talking on their phones, thank you to the community for supporting this road safety campaign.
Driving under the influence of alcohol
- Unfortunately Police continue to detect people who are driving while under the influence of alcohol
- Police charged 3 people on Saturday night alone
- There will continue to be a Police presence on the roads at any time of day or night and Random Breath Tests will be conducted
Job opportunity
- NIPF has an ad in the paper for a full-time position as a coxswain to drive the new boat which should be on island by the end of the year and are encouraging anyone who is interested to put in an application and/or come down and ask questions about the position

Fatal collision
- In relation to the fatal collision which occurred about a month ago, Police are happy to report that the three passengers in the car are all still in hospital but are recovering
- The families of those involved in the collision would like to pass on their deepest thanks to everyone who helped at the scene and afterwards
- The efforts of first responders, bystanders and blood donors all played an important part in the 3 passengers surviving the incident
Witnesses sought
- Police are again appealing for witnesses or information in relation to the property damage that occurred at Lone Pine
If anyone saw or has information about the chain sawing of the bollards at Lone Pine Police would like for them to come forward and provide that information
