Police Report – Friday 2 September 2022

Next Wednesday is our fourth ‘Coffee with a Cop’ at Seriously Chocolate from 10.00am to 11.00am. Please come on down, we would love to hear your thoughts and opinions about how we can support your community better. We want you to share your ideas and suggestions on how we can do better or initiatives you would like to see implemented.

Next Saturday the 10^th of September 2022, NIPF will have a stand at the Norfolk Island Health and Wellbeing Expo at Rawson Hall from 10.00am to 1.00pm. We are bring some of our technology including speed detection, drug and alcohol testing equipment and some AFP merchandise to give away. Again we are working hard to re-engage with your community post Covid and this is another opportunity for you to provide us with feedback.

NIPF are actively investigating the theft of the Great Seal of Norfolk Island. The seal was identified as missing late August however the timeframe it was stolen is significantly longer. I know there is a lot of talk about this seal and we require the assistance of the community to return this item to the people of Norfolk Island. If you know something, please tell us. We have had some information presented recently but we require a lot more. Yes we have an avenue of investigation and I am certain there are some within the community who can assist this investigation. I know you are all disappointed with the theft and we will do everything we can to recover it for you. If you have any information at all, regardless how insignificant you think it may be, please come and speak with us, we are happy to have these conversations in absolute confidence.

Lastly, if you need to contact Police, the only number you should call is 22 222. Other numbers including mobile numbers are not always monitored however 22 222 is monitored 24 hours a day, but be patient, after hours the call is call forwarded to the on-call members mobile.
