  • School is back we hope the kids enjoyed their break. This means though that motorists need to slow do to 30kph between 8am and 3.30pm while school is on in the designated school zone. Please also remember this includes past Banyan.
  • Norfolk Island legislation requires motorists to slow to 30kph from the first speed limit change sign they pass and remain at the reduced speed limit until they pass a second speed limit sign.
  • We have had a few reports of people shooting feral chickens on public land from their vehicles. This behaviour is not acceptable for many reasons. Norfolk Island legislation requires people to apply for and be granted a permit to shoot on public land for starters and that same legislation does not permit the use of firearms from inside a vehicle. If people are caught doing this they could be put before the Court and also have their firearms licence revoked. By far the main reason this behaviour is not acceptable is that it is extremely dangerous. Firearm ownership and use is a privilege; it is not a right.
  • Have a great weekend everyone, enjoy the good weather and daylight savings.
