On November 25th, 2025, Norfolk Island marked International White Ribbon Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about violence against women and encouraging conversations around this important issue.
As part of the observance, the Norfolk Island Police Force (NIPF) were invited to participate in a community walk organized by the Norfolk Island Walkers Group at Kingston on Sunday, November 23rd. The event provided an opportunity to engage with locals, residents and tourists, many of whom expressed their support for White Ribbon Day.
On Tuesday, November 25th, NIPF hosted two information stalls at The Helm and the Norfolk Mall, where they were joined by partners from the Australian Border Force, St John's Ambulance, and community members including George Parsons and Ebony Parsons. At the stalls, volunteers distributed white ribbons, conversation starter cards, and white chocolate chip biscuits as part of efforts to raise awareness and spark dialogue on the issue of domestic violence.
The NIPF would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the following individuals and organizations for their support and contributions to White Ribbon Day 2025: Karen Innes-Walker, Jasmine Kiernan, Ian Kiernan, George Parsons, Ebony Parsons, Kieran Randall, James Garden, Kieran Lawler, the Norfolk Island Cricket Club, The Helm, Pam Nobbs, and NI Connect.
Together, we can continue to raise awareness and work towards a safer, more inclusive community for all.
