DRIVING

• We are concentrating on the habits of drivers at the moment. Some may have seen that we have been conducting more speed checks throughout the day at different times, drivers are driving within the speed limit for the most part, and we thank you for this.
• Some not so good habits we have noticed include children on laps of drivers and passengers. Please make sure your kids are in the correct seating in the car and are wearing their seatbelts.
• We are also conducting mobile vehicle registration checks – make sure your car is registered and keep on top of this. We have reminded several drivers that their car is unregistered, so please just check when you get home today and make sure everything is up to date.

EBIKES

• We have touched on it already, be safe on your e-bikes and in fact, any bikes.
• Wear your helmets – this is so important for safety, we have told a lot of people now to pop your helmet on when you are on your bikes. We are very concerned with the safety of riders, but the safety starts with the decision to pop your helmet on before you jump on the bike and head out. Please remain vigilant whether it’s just a push bike or an e-bike.

SCAMS

• Online scams have come to our attention. These kinds of frauds can be very convincing, and the outcome can be devastating.
• You can come and speak to us regarding any potential fraud or report the matter and information on cyber.gov.au which is a great place to find cyber crime resource. This was an initiative created between all policing jurisdictions with Australian Signals Directorate. If you aren’t affected by a scam but want to report it, there are links also on this website to National Anti-Scam Centre where these matters can be reported.
• If you don’t know the caller, the website, the links, or are being asked for personal information, and it just doesn’t seem right, make some enquiries, including with us and we can assist. It’s better to be safer than sorry.
