Police News

There was a fairly full listing at Court this week but nothing was finalised and everything was adjourned until next month.

On the police news front we wanted to say:

• Although there is a decrease of e-bikes on the roads and footpaths because school is back, we want to remind everyone to ride their e-bikes, normal bikes, scooters skateboards etc. with respect and to be mindful of other pedestrians and vehicles. Our main concern is that no one is badly hurt or worse by an incident that could have been avoided.
• On the e-bike front, we have mentioned before that we are seeking legal opinion about these e-bikes and how they are classified under the Norfolk Island legislation. We will notify the community when we receive this advice and what it is. Please be aware there may be some changes coming.
• The NIPF wanted to pass on their condolences to the family and friends of Mervyn BUFFETT on his passing, he served as a Special Constable with the NIPF many years ago.
