Police News
- Police are also aware that there are some issues with the 000 emergency number. Telecom is working hard to rectify the problem but until that is done we want to remind the community to use the following numbers to contact the emergency services:
- 23333 for Ambulance and Hospital
- 22049 for the Fire Service
- 22222 for the Police
Another good week so not much from us:
- The NIPF think it is probably timely to remind people to take care and watch out for the cows as they drive around the island. We have had reports of 2 cows being hit in the last couple of days. Drivers/riders should be aware that if they do hit a cow, please report it so the cow can receive proper care. It should also be noted that if your vehicle is properly registered (and there are no other negative factors) that your third party insurance will cover some of the financial cost of repairing your vehicle.
- Please, as always, take care driving around the school with the 30kph speed limit in force on school days from 8am until 3.30pm inclusive. Vehicles must be doing 30kph when they go past the posted speed sign and must
not travel over 30 kph until their vehicle passes the next speed limit sign which has a higher speed limit posted.
