The NIPF would like to remind all road users that it is the responsibility of the person operating the vehicle to ensure that it is roadworthy, registered and is displaying the correct registration plate even if it is not their vehicle.

There is again an increase in negative driving/riding behaviour and the NIPF are getting an increased number of calls reporting these incidents. As a result we confiscated 2 motorcycles for 7 days last week. If this trend continues Police will consider requesting that the Court of Petty Sessions turn their mind to permanently seizing the vehicles of repeat offenders. This is obviously a fairly drastic measure but some road users continue to drive/ride in a manner which endangers themselves, other road users and pedestrians.
