Please explain

Please explain why it is that when a 'foreign insect or bug' is found here that it is only taken away to be identified. Why is there no further testing done to ensure it is germ/virus free? With the kiwi ants on board the ship recently, why weren't further tests made? It is well known that ants can infect bees with veroa mite...no bees = no produce. Where is the real protection for our island?
