Norfolk Island Teacher Consultative Committee – Communique #13

The Committee met on Thursday 25 November 2021.

Queensland Department of Education advised the committee they intend to provide employment proposals to teachers this week with sufficient information to enable teachers to seek financial advice. Queensland Department of Education officials will be on Norfolk Island from 30 November 2021 to facilitate further discussions with staff.

New South Wales Department of Education notified the committee that they met with teachers last week, and will be providing individual written advice on leave portability arrangements to inform teachers’ employment decisions.

The Committee was advised that the start date for the 2022 school year is under consideration and is expected to be discussed on island during the Queensland delegation visit next week.

There will be no meeting on Thursday 2 December 2021.
