Planetary Alignment
In the Norfolk Island night sky
These 5 planets lined up in order of their distance from the Sun in the pre-dawn sky from June 23 to 25. I hope you had the opportunity to see it!
With the New Moon occurring on 29th June, we will soon be seeing the crescent Moon appearing again in the western sky, just after sunset over the coming week. Looking at the eastern night sky, the constellation of Scorpio can be seen clearly, along with the Southern Cross.
Did you know?
The rare sight of five bright planets lining up with the moon wowed sky-watchers around the world last week Friday, with this planetary sight that won't happen again until 2040.
Throughout June, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn have lined up in their orbital order from the sun, before dawn in the south-eastern sky. Early Friday (June 24), the moon joined the planet parade in this awesome sight.
