In the Norfolk Island night sky
The full Moon this month occurred last Thursday 14th July. The other main objects able to be seen in the night sky this week are the constellation of Scorpio, the Red Giant Antares, the Southern Cross and now rising in the east, the planet Saturn is once again visible from around 8:00pm onwards.
Did you know?
…that with the release of the new images from the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) astronomers are getting a glimpse back in time to when the universe was only a few billion years old. (It’s now estimated to be 14 billion years old). This is the first image released from the JWST. The arcs of light forming a circular pattern are believed to be the bending of space time from galaxies behind the central galaxy cluster seen in the middle of this image.
Astronomy quote
"Astronomy, as nothing else can do, teaches men humility." - -Arthur C. Clarke.
