MAJOR SPONSOR NORFOLK ISLAND TRAVEL CENTRE

The 23RD Travel Centre Pistol shoot done & dusted for another year. A big thankyou to all our sponsors for your continued support of our annual competition.
We had 22 visiting shooters from SA, QLD, NSW, & Tahiti all arriving in time for our welcoming fish fry on Saturday night. President Kevin Coulter welcomed the visitors and gave them a run down on the competition. A new format for us this year in that we presented the daily medals on the day to save having to listen to Kevin and Doug for so long at the presentation dinner.
The competition commenced on Sunday with Standard Pistol sponsored by Baunti Tours. By this time, the visitors were getting used to our range.

Thursday saw the final day and the weather was brilliant just like all week, for the Fun Day where we do a series of events with club guns to make it a little harder. A gun that you are unsure where the sights are set does make it a little difficult to try and hit a tennis ball sitting on a wire which looks like its just levitating 25 m in front of you. After having a laugh and surviving the day every one headed to the club house for a Fish Fry lunch to finish the shooting competition. It was the wind down time, before we attended the Presentation Dinner held at the range. After a delicious meal catered for by Paul Hayde assisted by Fletcher Buffet it was trophy presentation time and the drawing of our “100 Club raffle” for a $600.00 travel voucher which was won by Kaye Norris.
Special mention to Johan Perchard for 50/50 in the 8 second series of Rapid Fire & to Tom Sapienza for the most clips shot for the week.
The over 65 Walking Stick Trophy sponsored by Paul Waterhouse was won by John Ingold, third year in a row. Rumour has it he is coming back next year. Can he do it again?
Ladies High Gun was taken out by Valerie Nicaisse from Yamba and the Men’s High Gun was taken out by our very own Doug Creek.
Thanks go to the dedicated crew who put in the hard yards at the range in the weeks leading up to and during the shoot. Comment from a visiting shooter saying what a lovely, well kept facility and a credit to the members.
A very big thank you to Norfolk Island Travel Centre. We appreciate all the organising you do for our annual event.
We would like to thank the sponsors of our events each year and also the sponsors who donated vouchers for the Fish Fry night raffles.
