Norfolk Island Bee Pest & Disease Survey

02 December 2021

As part of the Norfolk Island Pest and Disease Survey 2021-2023, Dr John Roberts will be visiting Norfolk Island from 3 to 16 December. John is from the CSIRO and will be working closely with local beekeepers to conduct a survey of bee pests and diseases. The survey is funded by the Australian Government, through the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications.

John will present at the Flora & Fauna Society’s Christmas party on Monday 6 December in A&H Hall. The presentation will start at 5.30pm and is open to non-members too.

Dr Roberts will also run an information session for Norfolk Island beekeepers. This information session is only for beekeepers and will be held on Saturday 4 December from 4 pm in A&H Hall. If you are interested in attending please email John.Roberts@csiro.au

A big thank you to community members organising and supporting these events. John welcomes any questions from the community and can be contacted at John.Roberts@csiro.au

Please note that John’s survey and presentations are different (but complementary) to the Integrated Pest Management Workshops being run by Ant Rice.
