Healthy Cooking Demonstration-Breaking Bread
The Health & Wellbeing Office is in the process of organising the next Healthy Cooking Demonstration “Breaking Bread”, the demonstration will be held on Tuesday 13th June from 5.30pm. Kate Knight, Will Despotovic & Karen Inness-Walker will be demonstrating different methods of making delicious and healthy homemade bread -Sourdough & Easy Low Knead Bread. Permaculture follow up sessions
Nathan Taylor facilitated the Permaculture follow up session on Thursday 25 May. There was a great turn out for this interesting topic on “Whole Property Planning”. Thank you to those that attended and to Nathan for giving a great presentation.
The next session will be held on Thursday 29 June, this session is being facilitated by Jodie Williams and the topic is “How to set up and grow your own microgreens”. With a starter kit of seed samples, Jodie will discuss worm farms, soil building techniques, growing sprouts & edible flowers.

Singing for Wellbeing – A Program for Everyone
Did you know that singing can help your health and wellbeing in many ways including helping to relieve stress; stimulating your immune system; improving your lung function and improve your mood and sense of wellbeing?
The Health and Wellbeing team in association with Carter Stormann will be holding choir sessions every Monday from 5.30pm – 6.30pm at the SDA Hall on New Cascade Road. No previous singing experience is needed. Cost is only $5 per session so come along and give it a try.
Health & Wellbeing Expo 2023
The Health & Wellbeing team are in the process of organising the Health & Wellbeing Expo for this year. The Expo will be held on Saturday 26 August at Rawson Hall between 10am – 1pm. If you would like to be an exhibitor or a healthy food provider at the Expo this year, please contact Maria Massey on 22687 or email maria.massey@hospital.gov.nf and a form will be sent to you to fill in and return to secure your spot.
Norfolk Island Patients’ Travel Accommodation and Assistance Service (NIPTAAS) Reminder
When your NIHRACS GP refers you to Australia for medical treatment or investigations please remember to obtain a NIPTAAS claim form for accommodation and travel reimbursements before you leave Norfolk Island.
The claim forms can be collected from the hospital front office or are available on the NIHRACS website. www.norfolkislandhealth.gov.nf
Please remember that it is your responsibility to collect signatures from the hospital or clinic for each appointment in order to obtain your reimbursement
