NICS News Week 9 Term 3

From the Principal’s Desk

Thank you to the Norfolk Island Health and Wellbeing Team for their continued support of the students at NICS. This week Year 12 students, staff and community had the pleasure of attending workshops with Susie Edmonds on post school pathways and support strategies for students as they transition into future study or the workforce. The feedback from the students and staff was very positive and I look forward to the projects next stages. Thank you also to the Norfolk Island Youth Mental Health Awareness Group who came up with the idea and concept for the Beyond Norfolk project.

Thank you to the families who have returned their prep enrolment forms for 2024. Could all parents please have this completed by the end of the term. If you require new forms, or have any questions, please see the ladies in the front office or phone 23000.

Year 12 students are about to enter their final week of school and the final NSW cohort to graduate from NICS. The students have a week of activities planned whilst continuing their final preparations for their examinations in term 4. Students have a dinner at Government House with the Administrator on Wednesday evening along with some planned mufti day events.

The year 12 Graduation Ceremony will commence at the School Friday, 15 September at 1210pm. All families and extended families are welcome to attend. This will be the final HSC cohort to graduate from NICS. There will be light refreshments for Year 12 students and their families on the library lawn following the ceremony. Thank you to Mr Howlett for his leadership as Year Coordinator.

Sports and Citizenship Assembly & Senior Leadership Induction

The annual Sports and Citizenship Ceremony will be held at the school on Wednesday, 13 September from 145pm. As last year, the newly elected Senior Leadership Team will be inducted at the commencement of this this ceremony. I invite all families to attend.
