NICS News Week 7 Term 4

09 November 2023

From the Principal’s Desk

On Friday last week we had a visit from Durunbah Public School in NSW. NICS year 6 students hosted a cultural visit for the visiting year 5/6 students and taught them about Norf’k language, food, plaiting, fauna and Island Dancing. The connections and conversations between students were great to hear, and it was wonderful to see how proud the NICS students were to share their culture with a visiting class.

This week, students in Years 7 to 11 participated in the ‘People before students’ program with Mason, Ben and Nathan from the not-for-profit mental health organisation 'Speak & Share'. The program focused on increasing meaningful connections and normalising conversations around mental health in a safe, judgement free and inclusive environment, to promote happy and healthy students.

If your child is not be returning to NICS in 2024, please phone the office to let us know.
