NICS News Week 3 Term 2

We take great pride in our school and the wearing of school uniform is an observable demonstration of this. As the weather is starting to cool down, students are reminded to wear the correct school jumper and pants, and to continue the wearing of the school hat. If students are out of uniform, please send a note to explain the situation. If families need assistance with acquiring school uniform, please contact the Deputy Principal, Kirstie Ireland.

Congratulations to Timi Snell who has just returned from the Australian Junior Squash Open, held over three days at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre. Timi was amongst 220 players from Pakistan, Australia, PNG, New Zealand, Japan, UK, USA and Malaysia.

Timi played extremely well, losing her first match 3-2 which meant she would have progressed through the open draw at her first World Squash Federation Junior Open. Following that loss, she moved into the plate event where she had two convincing 3-0 wins, winning the plate event. Timi’s next event is the Queensland State Schools Championships in Rockhampton at the end of May as part of the Darling Downs team. Well done, Timi!
