NICS News – Week 8

30 August 2024

The upcoming PBL focus for Week 9 is “take ownership of your behaviour”. These key messages will be repeated throughout the week. PBL Awards are presented each week at assembly. As always, parents are more than welcome to attend our Wednesday assemblies.

A big congratulations to the following students who have qualified to represent the Darling Downs South West Athletics team at the QLD State Athletics Championships in October:

  • Toby Christian – 13 Yrs Shot Put
  • Vili Ratulevu – 14 Yrs Shot Put
  • Rex Moore – 10 Yrs 100m

A big congratulations to Timi Snell who returned this week from the Trans-Tasman Secondary School Squash Challenge in New Zealand. Timi represented QLD as the No. 4 player in the under 15 Girls division. Timi finished with five singles wins from seven matches and one doubles win. These great results meant that Timi was successful in being selected to represent Australia as No. 5 for the upcoming Trans-Tasman Secondary Schools Challenge against New Zealand later this year. A huge congratulations on being selected in the Australian side. Well done, Timi.

Could I please ask that families not use the former principal’s residence driveway and yard area as a drop off or pick up space? Currently, there is limited access to this area. In the future, this will be a designated car park space; however, until this work is completed, please use the drop off / pick up drive through at the front of the school.
