NICS News – Week 1, Term 4

Welcome back to Term 4 with a special welcome to our new families and enrolments this term. I hope all students had a nice break and are back refreshed for the next eleven weeks. Welcome back to the students who attended the Senior Tour at the end of Term 3. The feedback from the students and staff has been very positive. I must acknowledge Kirstin Ellard who coordinated the tour, along with the travelling staff: Tony Wilkinson, Carly Ellis, Maree Pepper and Julia Cullen. Planning has already commenced for the 2025 tour.

A reminder that next Wednesday, 9 October, commencing at 1:45pm is the NICS Sports and Citizenship Awards Ceremony. Please come along and support the achievements of our wonderful students.

The Week 2 Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) focus area is “Be a positive role model.” These key messages will be repeated throughout the week. PBL Awards are presented each week at assembly. As always, parents are more than welcome to attend our Wednesday assemblies. Congratulations to this week’s Gotcha Award recipients receiving a $5 canteen voucher from the P&C: Koby Little and Axel Nobbs-Boudan. The PBL rewards barbecue from Term 3 was held on Friday. Congratulations to the students for being recognised for their positive behaviours throughout the term.

I would like to wish Vili Ratulevu and Rex Moore who head off to the QLD State Athletics Championships next week. Vili will compete in the Under 14’s Shot Put and Rex in the Under 10’s 100m sprint. Best of luck to both students!
