The February meeting of the Norfolk Island Flora & Fauna Society will be held this Monday 13th February at the Supper Room (Rawson Hall) at 5.30pm.
The earlier than usual start is to accommodate 2 interesting presentations. (1) Daniel Gautschi will be providing an update on his study in relation to the Norfolk Island Green Parrot research he has been undertaking, including genetic sampling of the population across the landscape, and what it reveals. (2) Maxime and Thais, researchers from France, who have been looking at rat control/eradication possibilities for Norfolk. They have been hosted by F&F since May 2022 on the island, and this meeting will be their last opportunity before Thais leaves, to provide those interested with a look at the results of their far-reaching research, and what it means for Norfolk's Green Parrot population.
Given the weather warnings and unpredictability of Cyclone Gabrielle, we recommend potential attendees listen to the radio in case of postponement of these talks, or the whole meeting.
Please note the change of venue to the Rawson Hall Supper Room, and the earlier start time at 5.30pm
