The Norfolk Island 2025 telephone book has been published in June, and it looks great. Fantastic we can now update our old 2018 phone book with the new 2025 phone book which includes up-to-date names and numbers, for locals and businesses.
Titled, “A Guide to Norfolk Island, with White and Yellow Pages”, is more than a phone book. This lovely publication also has fantastic information in the front of the book, with Welcome, Walcum, to Norfolk Island with dedicated pages to Norfolk Island heritage and cultural sharing local etiquette and customs, regarding funerals, the Norf’k language, food and cooking, and special days, local events, working the cargo ships and industries.
There is also a page with information about a Podcast Series. This podcast is available on Spotify, and it delves into the island’s rich sound heritage and traditions.

Safety Guide section includes, call 000 for Emergencies for Ambulance/ Medical, Fire and Police. Pages provide information about Fire Safety, First Aid, Cyclone Awareness. Another important section is on Confidential Counselling and Mental Health support.
The book also includes the famous Nickname section, “Faasfain Salan Bai Dems Niknien”, with three pages of local sullen, with names like, Culla, Moochie, Dids, Bear, Lully, and many more.
The phone book has the usual Government departments and agencies, Border Force, Norfolk Island Regional Council (NIRC) departments and services including Norfolk Island Telecom and Customer Care. Plus, a list of Justices of the Peace for Norfolk Island.
International Calling with examples for calling overseas or calling Norfolk Island landlines or mobile phones, with the reminder if calling a
Norfolk Island mobile phone from Australia the caller must
add “0011” then “672” “3” then local mobile number
calling Norfolk Island landline or any number from other countries
“00” “672” “3” then the local number.
It is great to see pages with Norfolk Island Social & Community Clubs, the A to Z from A&H Society to White Oaks. There is something there for everyone, from sports to community support groups. Get involved and be part of the Norfolk Island Community.
Water conservation, as well as environmental and ecosystem page is included, plus the info on Norfolk Island seasonal climate to assist visitors when they are planning their holidays. Things to know.... is another great page from radio, mobile phones, shopping and markets and more.
I like the Norfolk Island Bucket List , Top 10 Free Things to Do. This is not only good for visitors, I wonder how long it is since the locals have ticked off this list and it is all here on our doorstep to enjoy.
It is seven years since the last Norfolk Island phone book was published, and I am sure there have been many new sullen names and numbers, as well as businesses since 2018. The most recent publication was a Norfolk Island Yellow Pages Book which was published in 2022. This book also included a local’s guide sharing our customs & traditions.
It is fantastic to have the 2025 addition of the Norfolk Island Telephone Book, I have enjoyed reading the front section and I love the artist work on the front cover, the green parrot, taking a selfie as it squawks “Watawiehi”.
Congratulations to the publishers, artists and everyone involved in organising the new “A Guide to Norfolk Island, with White & Yellow Pages 2025”.
