Last Weekend the MV Norfolk completed the unloading of the cargo from Brisbane at the Cascade Pier. The Norfolk Island Radio call was given on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th July, and it was great the swells were settling at Cascade Pier, which allowed the lighterage crew to start unloading the sea freight.
When the vessel first arrived, they were only had one day of unloading on Saturday 28 June, before the winter stormy ocean swells arrived and the MV Norfolk had to take shelter awaiting the calm seas. During the week I spotted the vessel at Puppy’s Point and Kingston coastal areas.
Everyone will be pleased to receive their sea freight, which includes vehicles, building materials, Australian Postal Service items, food for the supermarket and much more.
This week on Monday the MV Norfolk headed to Auckland New Zealand for the next ship of sea cargo. We will all be wishing for calm seas for V503W voyage from New Zealand for the next Auckland cargo shipment.

We wish the MV Norfolk and crew a smooth seas, after the stormy voyages at the beginning of 2025, and hopefully no more ants or pest to disrupt the unloading in future sea freight deliveries. Fingers crossed the second half of the year goes well for the MV Norfolk.
Here are a couple of photos of MV Norfolk anchored at Cascade on Saturday 28 June 2025, as the cargo lighterage crew unloading the final boats filled with cargo for their first day unloading sea freight.
Now that the cargo has been unloaded, we wish the MV Norfolk crew a safe journey to Auckland, New Zealand and their return trip to Norfolk Island at the end of July. Thank you for the lighterage crew, truck drivers and shipping company for your continued skills unloading the cargo.
