It has been 7 years

Thanks to a very special Norfolk Island resident reminding us all that it is 7 years since the Joint Standing Committee (20 October 2014) recommended that the Legislative Assembly be dissolved and mention of nepotism, mishandling of finances and that Norfolk Island could not manage its own affairs.

AND so the Australian Government was going to give Norfolk Island something SO MUCH BETTER.

WELL ..... where and what is that 'much better'?

That certainly has not happened.

Norfolk Island's economy is now in a more serious dire situation than 7 years ago and, in that 7 years it has all been under the control of the Australian Government.

WHY is Norfolk Island's economy in such a catastrophic state? Because the governance model that Norfolk Island now has, and introduced by the Australian Government has failed. It is the Australian Government's fault and it is their liability why Norfolk Island has gone down the drain.

No amount of money that the Australian Government throws at projects on Norfolk Island can cover up that fact.

And ... IT IS A FACT!

So ...... Why did the Australian Government not listen and work with the Norfolk Island people? Perhaps they are scared to be proven wrong?

But not working with the Norfolk Island people shows ignorance and lack of knowledge on their part of what can be achieved for Norfolk Island. If only ... the Australian Government had stopped and thought, well ... the world could have been Norfolk Island's future, but instead there is none of that now.

It is the lives and the future generation of the Norfolk Island people that is important. The Australian Government WILL NEVER destroy the Norfolk Island people.

When is the Australian Government going to realise that? Maybe never! More fool them.
