On Monday 25 March the cruise ship Heritage Adventurer arrived on Norfolk Island. The Heritage Adventurer anchored at Cascade Bay and the decision was announced that the passengers were able to disembark on the cruise ships zodiacs, for a day exploring our beautiful Norfolk Island.
There was a brief light shower of rain on Monday morning then the sunshine returned with a warm Norfolk Island day for the visitors to enjoy. I drove to Cascade Pier to photograph the cruise ship.
I am not sure how many were on-board the Exploration Cruise, and I been told that about 71 of the passengers who disembarked enjoyed a bird tour in the National Park and around out beautiful island. I am unsure if others also came ashore. I hope they all enjoyed their day exploring our beautiful Norfolk Island sharing the amazing history and stunning views around our remote island.
Heritage Adventurer last visited Norfolk Island on 12 November 2023, and the vessel anchored near Crystal Pool and Pint Hunter coastal area and the passengers disembarked on the ship’s zodiacs and approximately 34 passengers came ashore exploring Norfolk Island on personlised tours.

Heritage Adventurer current cruise started in New Zealand and as they depart Norfolk Island the vessel is sailing to New Caledonia. The cruise ship will then head north, up through the tropical islands and onto Japan for the next scheduled cruise is a 12 day cruise starting at Japan and sailing to South Korea which commences on 28 April 2024 to 9 May 2024.
This is the fifth cruise ship to visit Norfolk Island this year, the last was Hanseatic Spirit on 16 March 2024 and the next scheduled ship on my list is the P&O Pacific Encounter due on 16 July 2024. This large cruise ship is a regular visitor to Norfolk Island.
Heritage Adventurer
The Heritage Adventurer cruise ship aged 32 years was built in 1991. Heritage Adventurer sails under the flag of Madeira. It is a smaller cruise ship is operated by Heritage Expeditions New Zealand, with the capacity to carry 146 passengers and about 100 crew. The ship is 122 metres long and 17 meters beam width. Adventurer is owned by Bunnys Adventure and Cruise Shipping Co Ltd (Bahamas) and last refurbishment was in 2023. Previous names of Heritage Adventurer were, RCGS Resolute (One Ocean Expeditions), MS Hanseatic (Hapag-Lloyd), Society Adventurer.

Here are a few of the photos I took of the lovely cruise ship Heritage Adventurer as the ship anchored in the morning at Cascade Bay and the passengers came ashore at Cascade Pier, Norfolk Island on Monday morning on their South Pacific Cruise. The passengers and ship had departed by 3pm. We wish them all safe travels as they continue on their cruise adventure and hope they all enjoyed your day visiting our friendly shores.
