Have Your Say About How Council Engages With The Community

28 May 2025

As part of Norfolk Island Regional Council’s process of regularly reviewing its plans and strategic documents, a review and update of the Community Engagement Strategy is currently underway.

Council invites residents and the business community to share their feedback about the ways that NIRC engages with the community. This community input will help us better understand the way Norfolk Islanders find about Council services, projects and up to date.

By understanding the way that individuals and organisations on the island get or seek information that is relevant to them, we can look at ways of better sharing that information.

The review will also identify relevant stakeholder group across the island, and outline methods for best engaging with each group.

NIRC will be hosting two drop-in sessions at Rawson Hall Supper Room in the first week of June, where the community engagement survey can be completed, and questions about the strategy review can be answered.

There is no need to register to attend, simply drop in during these times:

  • 4:00pm to 6:00pm – Wednesday 4 June
  • 5:30pm to 7:30pm – Thursday 5 June

In addition, there is an online survey that will be open until close of business on Friday 13 June 2025. The link for the survey can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/VNSQ8RX.

Alternatively, submissions and feedback can be made by emailing customer care at customercare@nirc.gov.nf including “Community Engagement Strategy” in the subject line.
