27 December 2024
As 2024 comes to an end, it is time to say goodbye to the past year and welcome in 2025, the new year. This week on Tuesday is 31 December, the final day of 2024.
This week I thought I should search social media sites and find out what events are happening here on Norfolk Island for those wishing to celebrate New Year’s Eve.
The Salty Beer Garden has planned a great New Years Eve celebration:
Masters of Sunset: They’ll be bringing their high-energy funky beats, ready to shake up this little rock and send 2024 off with a bang!
There will be music all day from 3pm and the Kitchen will be serving regular hours 12-8pm.
After Sunset, sun is setting at 8pm this will be a strictly 18+ EVENT, all minors will be asked to leave.
Please be respectful of us and our space, no BYO.
This is a Free Event for the community, see you at Salty, next to Foodland in town.
NORFOLK!! I hope you’re ready!
This NYE is set to be one for the books. Masters of Sunset are coming back bigger and better (if that’s even possible). If you missed them at Easter don’t miss this show, if you were there then you know!
They’ll be bringing their high-energy funky beats, ready to shake up this little rock and send 2024 off with a bang!
We’ll warm the night up with live music throughout the day. Kitchen will be serving regular hours 12-8pm to get you all fed. Then once the sun is setting at 8pm this will be a strictly 18+ EVENT, all minors will be asked to leave.
This is FREE EVENT for the community. Please be respectful of us and our space, no BYO.
We can’t wait to groove and dance our way into 2025 with Yorli!!
This week the bakers and Butchers will be busy once again preparing for the BBQs and family and friend gatherings. Remember to place orders so you don’t miss out when playing for the next public holiday on Wednesday 1st January 2025.
I am sure other cafes, restaurants, and clubs will also be open, check at the venues for details regarding New Year’s Eve and New Years Day.
If you need a calendar, the Trading Post in Foodland mall are selling the new 2025 calendar with stunning images of Norfolk Island, these are great gifts to share with family and friends.
It is only just over a week until Heiwa Day at Emily Bay on 5 January 2025, this week is a great time to get organised for the wonderful community beach day.
If you are outdoors down the beach or enjoying the beautiful summers days, remember to be sun smart and don’t get burnt. If you are celebrating with a few drinks over the festive season, please take care and do not drink and drive, get a sober driver to take you home.
Some of us may stay up late and celebrate the night and at mid-night countdown to welcome in the new year. Others may watch the sunset and farewell 2024 and get up early and watch the sunrise as the new day starts the beginning of 2025.
Happy New Year 2025
