Last weekend on Saturday 16 March the cruise ship Hanseatic Spirit arrived on Norfolk Island. The Hanseatic Spirt anchored at Cascade Bay and the decision was announced that it was safe for the passengers to disembark on the cruise ships zodiacs, for a day exploring our beautiful Norfolk Island.
During the past week there has been strong South Easterlies windy days and the ocean had been whipped up with white caps and swells last week. Saturday morning there were passing showers and light drizzle as I drove to Cascade Pier to photograph the Hapag Lloyd Cruise ship. Later in the morning the sunshine returned, and the weather improved for the travelers as they explored Norfolk Island.
There approximately 180 people on-board the Exploration Cruise, and I am unsure of the number of passengers who disembarked and came ashore. Local Norfolk Island tour operators, Pinetree Tours, had their tour buses ready to pick up the passengers as they came ashore, and tour company staff drove the visitors around many tourist attractions, exploring our beautiful Norfolk Island sharing the amazing history and stunning views around our remote island. Pinetree Tours have posted some lovely photographs on Facebook.

A big good morning to Hapag-Lloyd Cruises Hanseatic Spirit! Welcome to Norfolk Island! We hope you have a wonderful day visiting our beautiful home.
A great day touring our island with Hapag-Lloyd Cruises! Thank you so much for visiting.
This is the fourth cruise ship to visit Norfolk Island this year, the last was MS Europa (2) on 13 February 2024 and the next due is the P&O Pacific Encounter due on 16 July 2024. This large cruise ship is a regular visitor to Norfolk Island. I was expecting another cruise ship named Amera on Friday 15 March 2024, but this vessel which was sailing around the world must of changed the shipping itinerary schedule as it is now sailing the coast of South America in Uruguay area.

Here are a few of the photos I took of the lovely cruise ship Hanseatic Spirit as the ship anchored in the morning at Cascade Bay and the passengers came ashore at Cascade Pier, Norfolk Island on Saturday morning on their South Pacific Cruise. The passengers and ship had departed when I visited Cascade in the afternoon around 3.30pm. We wish them all safe travels as they continue on their cruise adventure and hope they all enjoyed your day visiting our friendly shores
