Greenwoods Fishing adventures

24 August 2023

This week in fishing news from Norfolk Island we’ve had another cool week but the winds have been down giving us a few fishing days. After a number of slow weeks on the Trumpy I don’t think anyone was expecting much but myself and Luke both had some reasonable catches over the last week. In closer to the Islands we are starting to see more and more sea birds as they return to breed, they also show us fishermen where the fish are as they swoop down on small baitfish getting chased up by pelagic fish.

This has also been another great week of kingfish fishing with yours truly getting a couple of 18kg specimens. Out in the deep Luke caught some solid blue eye trevalla this week while testing out some electric reels made for that sort of fishing. The week ahead has some more nice weather days to get out and show a few of our visitors what we have to offer so watch this space next week for more fishy news from Norfolk Island
