This week in fishing news from Norfolk Island it’s been a cold and windy few days but as usual we managed to get out once. Myself (Greenwoods Fishing Adventures) and Advanced Fishing Norfolk IS ventured off in less the ideal conditions both with groups of eager fisherman.
We set off before sunrise on different paths and on arriving to our destinations it didn’t take long to realize it was going to be a good day of fishing. As it turns out the next 6 hours or so we’re filled with smiles, bent rods and banter between anglers. Some of the better catches of the day were some quality Redthroat Sweetlip, Kingfish to 17kg, a 50kg Bar Cod and some nice Amberjack.
By the afternoon the tide changed and between the sharks and sea conditions turning from bad to worse it was time to head back to the shelter of the Island for a scenic trip in along our beautiful north coastline.
I’m sure there was a few tales told over a cold beverage or two that evening by the visiting anglers. The week ahead looks too good to be true with light winds and not much swell from Monday onwards, let’s hope it holds. See you all next week.
