Book Accommodation, Tours and Events with Norfolk Online News!

This week in fishing news from Norfolk Island it’s certainly felt like Winter! Not just the cool nights and short days but gusty showers of rain, rough seas and water temperatures as low as 18 degrees. We did however get one day where the winds backed off and let a flurry of eager fishermen out for a day on the big blue. The fishing from most reports was pretty good with a mixed bag of reef fish and some nice Kingfish and Trevally. Some of the young locals have been catching a feed from the shore too which is always great fun for the more adventurous. This week we also had a cruise ship unload that more than doubled the Islands population for a short time. It’s really just a little taster for tourists who may only get a hour or two on shore but hopefully it’s enough for them to realize what we have to offer and to book a week or two holiday in the future. The week ahead is exiting for the community as our new cargo vessel The Norfolk arrives to unload for the first time. Fingers crossed all goes well and our sea fright becomes more regular from now on. Take care, stay warm and see you all next week.
