This week in fishing news from Norfolk Island it’s been a wild week of weather with all things we don’t like for fishing, wind, swell and rain! We did manage to get out one day before it all turned to custard and the fishing was pretty good, apart from the ferocious whaler sharks taxing us heavily.
Some days the sharks aren’t too aggressive towards our hooked fish and other days it’s a race to get them in the boat before it’s all over and you’re rigging up yet again. At least the Redthroat Sweetlip were biting well and we managed a good catch moving around to avoid the sharks. Kingfish on the other hand we’re not keen to bite this week but over the coming months we’d expect to see more and more leading up to their breeding season. The Wahoo run continued this week with a few quality ones taken trolling the shelf.
The week ahead looks like we’re in for more wind and swell but we will be ready to go if a weather window allows it.
