Greenwood Fishing Adventure

12 June 2024

This week in fishing news from Norfolk we finally had a few nice days with low swell and light winds making for some comfortable conditions to fish in.

After such a long time between good fishing weather this week has seen a number of boats get out of their sheds and on the water so there’s plenty of fishing tales going around, most of them true.

This time of year we really get to see just how unique our fishery is as we still have water temperatures over 22 degrees but our colder water species are starting to bite as well. Some of the worthy catches this week include: two big Yellowfin Tuna, 40 and 45kg!, a few Wahoo, record catches of delicious Flame Snapper, loads of Bar Cod up to 40kg, a 23kg Kingfish and many more.

A few Minke Whales have been spotted this week and it’s not long before Humpbacks will be on their way past and putting on a show too. The week ahead looks wet and wild but if there’s a weather window we will be out there fishing so watch this space next week for more fishy news from Norfolk Island.
