This month in fishing news from Norfolk Island we’ve had an exciting week filled with smiles, bent rods and screaming drags. Over the week on Greenwoods Fishing Adventures we caught most of the targeted species that swim in our waters including Redthroat Sweetlip, Snapper, Flame Snapper, Bar Cod, Kingfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Trevally, Amberjack, Mahi Mahi and more. The fishing has been awesome with some crazy sessions on many of species listed above. It is a common thing for us charter skippers on Island to hear our clients say “that’s the best fishing I’ve ever experienced!”. Sure we still have slow days but that’s fishing, this week wasn’t slow.
Even though the fish were biting and it might sound like a walk in the park, it’s not, you still need to know where to go when, what to use and how to use it and then throw in a huge population of hungry whaler sharks that swim faster than any human alive can wind a fish in and all of a sudden landing any fish let alone a big one becomes basically impossible.
Thankfully we have a lot of fishing grounds to move around on and hopefully avoid the sharks enough to get our customers the fish they’ve been dreaming of. Pictured is yours truly with 1 of 13 Mahi Mahi we landed in one crazy hour of fishing this week, not only do they look amazing they taste delicious too! Catch you all next week
