First Cruise Ship 2025 Silver Nova

This week the first cruise ship for 2025 arrived on Norfolk Island on Thursday 2 January 2025 with 673 passengers. The Silver Nova anchored at Cascade Bay and the passengers disembarked on the Norfolk Island passenger transfer vessels at Cascade Pier. This lovely Silversea Cruise liner was built in 2023, so just over a year old and looked fantastic. I read that the Silver Nova can accommodate 728 passengers and 556 crew.

In the morning, tour buses transferred the passengers into Burnt Pine township and down to Kingston on the other side of the island. The visitors enjoyed their day on island tours, and enjoyed time in Kingston exploring the KAVHA, World Heritage area including visiting the museums and the convict ruins. Some of the tourist played golf, while others enjoyed a swim in Emily Bay. Later in the afternoon, the Silver Nova passengers returned to Cascade Pier and were transferred back onto their awaiting cruise ship.

Cruise Ship P&O 2024 Schedule

The last P&O cruise ship to visit Norfolk Island this year was P&O Pacific Adventure on 21 October 2024.

The December 2024 Schedule

The cruise ship, Scenic Eclipse II passed but did not stop on 2 December 2024.

The next scheduled ship on my list was the National Geographic Orion on Christmas week, my list has 25^th and 27^th December 2024. But I am unaware if this cruise ship came to Norfolk Island. I did not see the ship.

The January 2025 Schedule shows

Silver Nova Thursday 2 January 2025, with 673 passengers.

Azamara Cruises is due on Norfolk Island on Thursday 23 January 2025. Departing Auckland 20 January on a 14-day voyage of New Zealand and Norfolk Island.

On Thursday morning I drove to Cascade Pier and took a few photos and returned in the afternoon to take a few more as the last of the passengers were returning to their vessel for the final leg of the cruise to Sydney. Here are photos of Silver Nova anchored in Cascade Bay on a stunning day, it looked a picture with the blue water and blue skies.

Thank you to the tour guides, bus drivers, transfer vessel operators and Baunti Tours for organising the transfer of the passengers around Norfolk Island. Thank you to the shops, cafes and everyone who made this another successful cruise ship visit.
