Enrolled Nurse (Medication Competent) – Inpatient, Emergency and Residential Aged Care
NORFOLK ISLAND HEALTH AND RESIDENTIAL AGED CARE SERVICE (NIHRACS)

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Enrolled Nurse to join our team in a remote island location. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide exemplary nursing care to NIHRACS facility patients and residents while embracing the values of Excellence, Respect, Integrity, and Teamwork. The position will support best practice and ensure a safe environment for residents, patients, and workers within the facility.
As a member of a values-driven healthcare team, you will play an essential role in improving the health outcomes of individuals in the community, building meaningful relationships with patients, and fostering a culture of care and compassion.
Key Responsibilities and attributes:
• Assist in the planning and implementation of holistic, high-quality, evidence-based nursing care for patients / aged care residents.
• Work as a team to support the delivery of excellence in care, liaising with multidisciplinary team members to improve patient outcomes.
• Ensure practice is in line with AHPRA Scope of Clinical Practice including medication delegation and ongoing professional development.
• Advocate for patient rights and access to quality care.
• Participate in audits and research to improve healthcare services. Advocate for best practice through the NSQHS standards. Assist the leadership team in the development and review of policies and procedures.
• Knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality, and continuous improvement principles and the role of the Enrolled Nurse in applying these.
• Recognise and respect the cultural diversity of the community, adapting healthcare practices to meet the specific needs and preferences of patients.
• Possess basic computer literacy, knowledge of health information systems, and Office 365 applications.
Selection Criteria:
• Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse (medication competent).
• Rural and Remote experience as an Enrolled Nurse, with aged care experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work in culturally diverse communities and adapt care approaches to the local population’s values, customs, and healthcare beliefs.
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a collaborative team environment and to adapt to changing needs and conditions in a remote setting
Renumeration: EN will be paid as NRG Grade 5 under the NIHRACS Enterprise Agreement. An indicative range of remuneration is $2,650.90 to $2,813.40 Per fortnight.
