Severe Weather Warning has been issued for the island this weekend (July 23-24) -Damaging winds and heavy rainfall developing on Saturday
The Bureau of meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for the island and advises that DAMAGING east to north-easterly winds averaging 60 to 80 km/h with peak gusts of 90 to 100km/h are forecast to develop on Saturday morning. Winds will tend northerly and ease overnight Saturday into Sunday morning. HEAVY RAINFALL is also forecast to develop during Saturday before easing overnight into Sunday morning.
With the prolonged wet-weather and expected high winds there is a likelihood that trees will be blown over and anything loose around your property could be picked up and blown away. EMNI recommends that you avoid driving during the bad weather if you need to drive take particular care on the roads. Also ensure that anything loose around your property is secured from blowing away.
