Crystal Serenity Luxury Cruise Ship Cascade Pier - Sunday 15 February 2026

18 February 2026

This month the first cruise ship for 2026 arrived here on Norfolk Island as a final stop before heading to New Zealand as they enjoy their adventure on their South Pacific Cruises. The lovely Cruise Ship Crystal Serenity anchored at Cascade Bay and the passengers disembarked on the ship’s transfer vessels at the Cascade Pier.

Baunti Tour buses were lined up ready to transfer the visitors to town and there was a drop-off and pick-up shuttle service set up by the Baunti Tour staff and the Bun Pine Kaa Park in New Cascade Road.

It is estimated that about 500 passengers spent their day exploring Norfolk Island, as they enjoyed their visit. Tour buses also took the passengers to Kingston where they were able to visit the Norfolk Island Museum and explore the (KAVHA) World Heritage Area with many layers of history. It was a warm sunny day, and I expect some may have enjoyed a swim in the Kingston Lagoon.

I drove to Cascade Pier during the morning and took a few photographs of the lovely cruise ship, as well as images of the transfer vessels as they ferried the passengers from ship to shore.

This was the first of two cruise ships due this month. The next cruise ship, Silver Dawn, is due next weekend on Saturday 21 February 2026.

The following are a few details about the Crystal Serenity, Sunday 15 February 2026.

The Crystal Serenity was refurbished in 2023 and has the capacity for 740 guest with 402 Ocean-View Rooms and Suites and 10 dining venues. It is estimated that there are 500 passengers on board this cruise ship, and I am sure they will be looking forward to visiting Norfolk Island on the weekend.

The passengers are enjoying an 11 night cruise which departed Lautoka, Fiji on 8 February and the voyage ends on 19 February in Auckland, New Zealand.

They visit 5 countries and 8 ports, exploring, Lautoka Fiji, Suva, Fiji, Mystery Island Angelghowhat, Vanuatu, Port Vila Vanuatu, Lifou, New Caledonia, Norfolk Island, then onto Bay of Islands in New Zealand and finally Auckland, New Zealand.

I checked out the Crystal Serenity web page, and this is what they wrote about the cruise and Norfolk Island.

Diverse and multi-sensory experiences await on this cruise around some of the pearls of Melanesia before heading to New Zealand. Leaving Fijian shores, we spend the day sailing to the white-sand shores of volcanic Vanuatu, calling at Mystery Island and the capital, Port Vila, where our warm welcome will include a traditional water music ceremony. Onwards we go to Lifou, a haven for birds including the red-bellied fruit dove, before spending a day sailing to Norfolk Island, a tiny Australian territory almost halfway between New Caledonia and New Zealand. After another day at sea, we’ll explore the stunning Bay of Islands before disembarking in Auckland.

Norfolk Island

The Pacific is known for its remote island idylls, and Norfolk Island is one of the remotest. A 35 square kilometre dot of land 1,041 miles (1,676 km) northeast of Sydney, Norfolk Island was initially settled by descendants of mutineers (of Bounty fame) as a prison colony in the early 1800s, and the Kingston and Arthur's Vale Historic Area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is a living showcase of how the Polynesian and Pitcairn Islanders were treated after the famous mutiny. But it's not all ex-penitentiary sites. The clear waters around Emily Bay Lagoon have exceptional coral and marine life and are backed by an expanse of grass and shaded by majestic, eponymous Norfolk Pines making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the view.

Christened by Julie Andrews,

February is an exciting month with two cruise ships visiting. We hope the passengers onboard Crystal Serenity enjoyed their visit to our friendly shores and had a great cruise South Pacific adventure. It was fantastic they were able to disembark here on Norfolk Island on Sunday 15 February 2026.

The next scheduled cruise ship due on Norfolk Island is the Silver Dawn on Saturday 21 February 2026 with an estimate of 400 to 500 passengers onboard, and the ship will be in port from approximately 8am to 3pm.

I do not have a confirmed list of cruise ships visiting Norfolk Island during 2026, but the following ship is the Scenic Eclipse on 7 March 2026 and Hanseatic Inspiration on 15 March 2026. And then later in the year P&O Cruise Carnival Encounter on 4 August 2025.

The last cruise ship I recorded in 2025 was the Luxury Cruise ship Scenic Eclipse which visited Norfolk Island on 28 November 2025 with up to 228 passengers and 176 crew. The attractive vessel was very new and built in 2023. The Scenic Eclipse also visited Norfolk Island on 16 April 2024 and gave passengers a scenic flight on one of the two ship’s helicopters.

Here are a few images of Crystal Serenity I took on Sunday as it anchored at Cascade Bay. I also checked to see if Crystal Serenity has visited Norfolk Island before and I found a link to 14 February 2018, on the maiden visit to Norfolk Island, but cannot confirm if they were able to disembark.
